You mommies that have already delivered, are you keeping your baby in the room the entire time after delivery or sending to the nursery? When I did my tour they expressed that it's encouraged to keep your baby with you for 23 hours a day now unless you are on heavy medication. Just curious about other hospitals. I'd rather have my baby with me anyway unless I'm just to exhausted and have no one staying with me to help.

I believe my baby was with me majority, but definitely not 23 hours a day. They usually take them at night while you're sleeping, well my hospital does. Which I hardly got any sleep the whole time anyways, but you could call and they'd come get the baby or call and they'd bring them back. I was never told a set time, but they were always willing to take her if I needed, which most of the time I said no anyways.

I had my son all day and at night. but they did come at get him for tests and stuff. I went to Baylor of garland and they were great with and my baby.

@marce88, haven't given birth yet but when i toured the hospital they didn't have a nursery n was told I'll have the baby the whole time ..

my hospital stopped using the nursery. the baby stays in your room. they take them to do weight and measurements but my boys stayed with me. They did take them for 3 hrs one time so I could sleep. I fed them, they took them then they brought them back when they needed to nurse again. they would have taken them more but I didn't want them to be gone from my side.
