Has anyone with Medicaid qualified for a breast pump thru their insurance?? Just wondering.

Its a joke in Florida, trying to get a pump under Medicaid. They will send you a crappy manual one, not electric, and they wait until you deliver to send it. I think a month after delivery.

oh, man. I'm in TN so hopefully they aren't like that here :/ they did send me a bunch of stuff when I filed that I was pregnant. they sent me vouchers for gift cards and info about wic and a magazine subscription and a book. maybe it'll be okay.

lol sounds like you will be just fine, they seem to be taking great care of you already! They didn't send me any of that stuff here. 😕 I swear FL medicaid is the worst. They are also cutting me off medicaid once I am 6 weeks post partum. Its like they want you to stay pregnant to provide you coverage. Ugh...its unfair.

The thing I find funny is, they push breastfeeding sooo hard down here, especially programs like WIC and Medicaid. You would think Medicaid wants to make it easier for those who want to do it a little more than they currently are.

never been on it but they offered me one through WIC and after the birth of my daughter but they were hand pumps which suck you want electric

yess!!!!!!!! I assume you have Amerigroup??? if so that's what I have and yes we qualify you just have to get your Dr to send a prescription to the insurance

@littlemissrainesmommy, that's exactly what I have!! that's good to hear; I've been a little worried about if I would get one or not.

I filled out the app on a website and then when it was time to order the pump they sent me an email...two days later my pump was in :) they contacted my doctor for the prescription and I didn't have to do anything!

well then yes ma'am you do! just make sure you stay on your Dr about it! (: I'm not sure what kind yet though? I'll try to remember to message you and let you know when I find out!

I'm in TN too and have amerigroup. hopefully I can get one too.

they always had me go through the health dept to get one.
