@xoxo512070, I would get a new doc... unless you are using metallic or ammonia dyes it can't. most dyes in boxes no longer contain metals or ammonia. your doc has out dated info.
My hairdresser (who also has her own kids) did my hair throughout my whole pregnancy I mostly only got highlights but she said it was ok and my doctor also didn't have a problem with it. I read it's best to wait til you're at lest in your semiconductor trimester and are in a well vented area
just because he is a concerned doctor and he would rather be safe then sorry doesn't mean I need a new one, thats a little judgmental. I was more then happy to wait until I had my son, I didnt take any chances. I have dyed my hair plenty of times to know what's in them and what's not, just putting out there what he told me

I did it while I was pregnant and my daughter is OK. it can't really get to baby. just don't use metallic based dyes and be careful of fumes.

just make sure the door is open and your bathroom fan is on if you have one, to help ventilate

my doc told me no because it can still get into the blood stream from your scalp

@princesskkm16, after 14weeks it's fine as long as you are in a well vented room and it doesn't stay on to long.
