@wrd2016, wow that sucks, I live alone but 11 hours always is kinda far. I hope he makes it back in time

@marce88, I hope he does too. I called him after I left the doctor today, and he only gets 3 weeks off when she comes. so I told him I was dialated to 2 cm already, this is his first as well as mine, so he asked what that meant, and I told him that I could have her soon or I could still hold off for a little while, which is true, but he said he didn't want to come back and be here for a week before she came and miss out on the money... so I told him that's his choice and if he misses it then I can't help that.. I just thought he would be more excited, and be more willing to be here instead of risking missing her birth.. I live in TN he's in Michagin working. that's 11 hours away and there's bad snow there right now so that will slow his trip down too.

at least he's wanting to work to help support her?

@ilyric, I agree. I'm very grateful for that.. but we've been talking about this for 9 months, and now it's like he's not worried about missing it.

He most likely is and you're only 37 weeks. you can remain dilated for at least 4 more weeks. He may be afraid to be burning time waiting around and not actually getting to spend it with you AND her. As you said he only gets 3 weeks off to be with you both. its not much help. if he burns most of the time before her birth and isn't able to help you after.

I'm not trying to sound insensitive because me and my other half are in a similar boat. we have a son at home, my fiance has no days to be able to take off and my hospital is 45 minutes away. i will most likely deliver alone because he is our only income and we have no one to care for our infant son while I'm in the hospital.

@ilyric, I'm sorry to hear that, I hope it works out for you, my boyfriend didn't want me to work since my last job treated me so shitty knowing I was pregnant, so I haven't worked since I was 4 or so months pregnant, he takes care of me and I'm very grateful, I'm not mad at him for wanting to stay and work bc I know he's nervous about all the responsibility but I'm nervous too, and I'm the one that's giving birth to our daughter, and I could really use him here with me right now.

i completely understand! i really do, just got to look at it from both sides. i wish you the best of luck asst becoming mommy! it truly is a blessing.
