Mirena is great, I had it twice and I never even knew it was there. Also, I didn't get a period for 8 years, which was a plus lol. I would have kept it in longer forthw 2nd one, but had it removed after 3 yrs because I was having really bad ovarian cysts, and I had to rule out whether or not the hormones in it were causing them. They werent, though. I had anothet condition that caused them
how do they insert it, how long does it last for & does it make you gain weight ? because I want to gain the weight, I actually have the 3month shot birth control.
@120415kittykatt, I've had mine since my son was 6 weeks so about 8 months and haven't had any problems with it. It didn't hurt me when they put it in but different people don't all feel the same pain so it might hurt you then it might not. It's last 5 years and as for the weight gain I'm not sure. I breast fed for three months and lost a lot of weight but when I stopped breastfeeding and stopped eating right I gained weight back so I don't want to say it was the birth control that did it.

@sarahemccormick, i was super nervous about getting it because I'm afraid of weight gain. i know it's a problem with other birth controls...

it did not hurt at all, i barely felt a thing. it took the dr. about 10 minutes to insert. @mellybelly28 @120415kittykatt
