I have a home BP monitor. My blood pressure stays around 120-134/76-84. Yet, when I go to the doctor they're getting readings like 150-170/80-90. We've done the 24hr urine test and there was no protein so no preeclampsia.
I just took my blood pressure 4 times and they were all in the 120 range. Has anyone else experienced high blood pressures at the doctor only? And what is the chance my BP monitor is inaccurate?
white coat syndrome. basically it's like your stressed every time you go to the Dr and it brings up your bp. mine is always high at the drs office but my normal at home is about 111/75. my bp also goes up every time I have something sugary or caffeinated which is normal except that I'm not about to have my bp that high. I did the 1 hr test also but they want me to do it again when I'm in my 3rd trimester.
One time that I went in they were gonna do an ultrasound & I was so scared I wasn't gonna see s heartbeat. My blood pressure was in the 170s and my doctor was really concerned. I told him I was nervous. He showed me my baby and that everything was fine and my blood pressure went to normal. Now when I go I just get myself to relax.
I don't think they told me what my BP reading was my first two visits. But at my 17 week appointment was when it was first brought to my attention. Now every time I go I have a steady 147 and up blood pressure but at home I hardly ever get in the 130 range. @mombie2013
lmao yes! they make me so nervous like they are going to tell me bad news or something I just be on edge haha
Yes girl! My heart rate went from 89 to 110 just from walking in the exam room. Lol. @kaliyahsmommy
My first OB appointment my blood pressure was high. I was also super nervous thinking I was gonna be told Something was wrong. I calmed myself down and it was normal.
Thank you ladies! I have been told about white coat syndrome so I was curious if that would lead to readings in the 170s and it doesn't look like I'm alone. Lol @marieterrell92 @mombie2013
