That's you and your body, and your doctor. There's many reasons as to why a csection is called.. If your doctor thinks it's a risk then so be it. But women have been giving birth to 9,10,11 pound babies for a very long time with no complications. So again, the weight of the baby has nothing to do with you giving birth vaginally.

@lesherbreanne, I beg to differ. I have to have a c section because my child is 11 pounds.

@karr17 if the doctors think there is going to be a risk, they will let you know and talk to you about it. 1 pound at 21 weeks isn't bad at all. Your hips will start to widen as you get closer. That's usually when they start checking. But, don't stress it, honestly.

My doctor always said we had to wait and see. She has been surprised by many things over the years. You never know.

that's pretty much where the baby should be at weight wise. a little big but not much. :) and weight doesn't have any bearing on type of delivery . also , a lot of things can change , you're only half way, baby could end up being super small at birth. never know :)

The weight has really nothing to do with whether or not you give birth vaginally. I delivered my baby at 9 pounds..
