So today I'm gonna ask my Dr about getting the arm implant after I give birth. Was gonna do the depo shot but I heard you gain a lot of weight on it and I definitely don't need that. Does anyone have the implant, and if so, does it affect milk production for breast feeding mommies or cause any weight gain? Can I get it taken out whenever I feel like adding to our family?

How much have you ladies gained so far ?? I've gained 64lbs 😳 my husband makes me feel shitty when I indulge by reminding me how hard it's gonna be to lose the weight once baby comes. I don't know if it hurts my feelings or pisses me off but my dr doesn't seem to be concerned about all this weight I've gained I started at 106lb so I was small to begin with. Talk about stressful
So I went on birth control for the first time about a month ago , maybe a month and a half . I knowwwww I've gained weight since going on it . I haven't taken my weight yet , but girls know when they're gaining weight lol , my belly is getting chubby . I'm on the Depo shot , btw . So , my question is , for anyone that's gained weight while on birth control ; does it eventually stop ? Or do you just keep gaining weight ? I can live with gaining a few pounds and that's it , but if it just keepsss onnn goinggg I'm gonna have to get off of birth control :/
best nonhormonal no weight gaining birth control?? I dont want an implant of any sort, so what left is options besides pill and shot? lol

I heard their not safe, and many women had to have them removed. have you thought about an iud.. I had Paragaurd for 7.5 years and never once had an issue with it. I had it removed in June. miscarriage in august and now I'm 10 wks! I loved my iud!

I don't have the implant but I do know you can take it out when you are ready to have another child. and in terms of the depo shot, weight gain isn't a common side effect. the only problem I've had so far is just nausea when I get the shot

You need to talk to your doctor if you plan on breastfeeding.. They are limited on what they will allow you to use for bc if you are going to breastfeed

the doctor told me that girls that get it usually dpnt like them so they go and take them out

I got the implant in my arm in october last year so far no problem and I still breast feed I have alot of milk

@mercyoftea, Personally I never had a problem with depo when I was on it. it actually made me lose weight I lost 15 pounds being on depo
