@baileymomma, you're right! my lo eats so quickly too x thank u
Sage also reduces milk supply. Also some babies take like 30 min to eat while others only take 5-10 min. My baby girl eats very quickly and she's a chunky butt. I was worried for a while when my breasts stopped getting so full. I made sure to feed whenever she wanted and kept track of how many wet diapers she had and she was fine. Whenever I pump I can only get out 1-3 oz and she's 7 months now. Our bodies will react better to the baby then the pump, so naturally she will get more then the pump will, but your totally right to be worried!!! Just keep track of the signs she's eating enough, like amount of wet diapers and color of pee.
Of course! ❤️ breastfeeding can hard! Especially at first. But it gets so much better I promise ❤️
Okay. Lots of skin to skin, try having her latch more often and keep feeding on demand and pump for 15 minutes after she's done. All the nursing and pumping and skin to skin will signal to your body that baby needs more milk. Lots and lots of water, oatmeal. Be sure to avoid things like peppermint, oregano, parsley as they can drop your supply. ❤️ just keep nursing and you really shouldn't dry up for no reason ❤️ I know my supply dipped right around my period each time but I think it would be much too soon for that in your case.
@kmally, okay well she will latch off and not want any more milk! But there's no way she drank 3-4 oz from one boob in that time lol...
Okay. Try to keep her awake longer. Babies are pretty efficient at the breast so she may be getting what she needs in that time. How often is she nursing?
@kmally, both. :( now when shes hungry since I don't have anything pumped... she just latches for 10ish minutes.... I don't think it's enough to get her full tho but she falls asleep after
@baileymomma, I don't think it's regulating because I can't even pump 2 oz now... and she drinks almost 4oz every two hours now @kmally
Yeah @kmally is right on about it. If you are worried though just make sure your eating/drinking plenty and fenugreek is an herb that will help increase milk supply.
@kmally, okay because it happened out of nowhere. and thanks :)
are you on bc i got the depo shot and it has almost completely diminshed my supply even though its supposed to be one to take while breastfeeding
It says 6-12 weeks but I really think it's more like 4-6 ;)
International board certified lactation consultant. Usually insurance will cover at east 1 consultation.
@kmally, shes 4 weeks!! and ok:( I hope so. they are not engorging all of a sudden ); since yesterday
How old is babe? Nursing on demand and keeping up with water intake? Enough wet and dirty diapers? If babe is between 4-6 weeks it's possible your supply is just regulating.
Have you seen an IBCLC? They usually have tips to get it back?
