Ladies how much doed/did your 1 month old (5 weeks) eat? My daughter never eats the same amount at each feeding. It mainly depends on how much she slept before she woke up to eat. She'll eat 2-3 ounces when she sleeps 2-4 hours. She'll drink an ounce and then knock back out if she only took a short nap for an hour or so. When she sleeps 4 or more hours (normally no more than 5) she'll eat 4-5 ounces. She's a big girl. She's already 10 lbs and her doctor didn't show any concern about it, so I wasn't really worried. I guess I'm just wondering if her eating habits are normal or if I should change something? She is formula fed BTW

My daughter is the same way. I'm not sure how much she weighs now because she hasn't been to the doctor since her two week appointment but she eats exactly like your baby! Her doctor said to not worry about it if she does start eating that way because between now & 3months they have a growth spurt. So it's normal!

I'm concerned my daughter sleeps too much. She's normally up between 6:30-7:30 and is up mostly all morning she does occasionally nap (car ride, stroller ride) but never more than an hour. Every afternoon she sleeps for about 3 hours then I wake her up at 5 to be up for the evening and to interact with Dad. During the night she sleeps 3-4 hour stretches. Is this normal?

Had a dr appt today for baby girl. He asked how much she was eating and I told him her average per day. He told me she's eating too much and I need to cut her back! She's eating 2-4 oz per feeding, every 3-4 hours. I have an app that I track her eating on and she usually gets between 19 and 24 ounces a day, which from what I read is kind of normal. He told me to get her on a schedule and only feed her 2 ounces every 4 hours. That doesn't seem like enough at all?! I just can't in good conscious not feed my baby when she acts like she's hungry. Plus, even if I am feeding her too much, too much is infinitely better than not enough!
