Has anybody ever been pregnant while on methadone? I'm terrified and there's nothing I can do now.

u can try seeing if ur Dr will switch u over to subutex. I'm on subutex now. but methadone isn't terrible bad for my baby. my Dr told me that before subutex, methadone was the go to drug to help struggling moms who were pregnant.

Once you're pregnant on methadone it's rare your doctor will allow you to come off it.. Too much risk of miscarriage

I know it's not bad for the baby right now I'm just worried about when it's born

I'm sorry but your doctor is retarded. ANYTHING you put into your body while your pregnant can hurt the baby. Doesn't matter if the doctor tells you it's safe or not, it's his job to lie to you and tell you that it's okay to take methadone and other pills like it because that's how he gets paid! Then the same doctor will wonder why when your kid is born why he's got withdraws from whatever medication you were on while pregnant.

No doctor is going to wonder why the kid has withdrawals when it's born because any doctor would make that clear to u that it will most likely happen. Hence my comment saying im worried about when it's born. But thanks for the support lol

@kbogzxo, I'm on subutex and my sun dr just had 5 babies born with the mothers on subutex and none of them had withdrawals I am worried about that also
