The top of my daughters head smells funny also has a lot of dry flakes and her soft spot is kinda in a little more then usual ... Going to call the dr in the morning but does anyone know what it could be ?

It sounds like cradle cap. My older daughter had it and it ate up her hair in the front, but it's growing back. Now my youngest has it but I scrub her head and wash it out as often as possible and oil it with a little baby Vaseline

It sounds like cradle cap its nothing serious to worry about you can buy special lotion and shampoo at wal mart

my son gets that if he misses a bath try a bath and dont be afraid to scrub the head well he also got it when i was scared to really scub his head my mom showed me that its ok to rub it clean
