what is the strep b test and how do they test for it

a swab from the vagina down to your rectum. it's a disease harmful to the baby if not treated . if you have it they treat you with antibiotics during labor .

It's a Bacteria that most women have. they test for it around the last month or so. It's literally a quick q tip of rectum and Vijay lol

it goes away though.

if you test positive you just get an iv when you give birth that has an antibiotic in it.

so if I was planning on doing a saline block and I tested positive I would have to have the iv instead? @icedtia

I think so, I think you only get the antibiotics during vaginal birth, since it can be given to the baby vaginally, don't quote me on that though I'm not 100% sure. @nebanks1226

I am do at the end of next month and I have the test for.this on Friday so I will ask my doctor to and post what she says
