Sometimes I drive down the roads of the rich part of town and I look at the really nice houses and get sad because we will never be able to afford something like that. I know we could, but that would require me to go back to school and work, and I just don't think I can leave my little love. Some women can, but it just isn't for me. I want to give Desmond the very best, but the very best that I can afford is WIC and food stamps. Yeah, my husband is in college and maybe years from now will become the professor that he wants to be, but for now, we have nothing. I wish I could give my son more.
