My SO does NOT want to use pacifiers! What are you ladies doing? Paci's or no paci's???

I never did nukes. I think they are disgusting and they are horrible for babies teeth when they are start coming. I will not be using one. You do what you want to do.

Pacifiers are a lifesaver! Helps my son calm down and sleep. And they help make his hiccups go away. Plus they reduce the risk of SIDS and therefore are actually recommended.

if you don't give it to them , they want need it . . that's what I did for my son.

my son never would take a paci and i bought hundreds before he was born lol

I'm not giving my son one until he learns how to latch properly. then I'll just give it to him when he's going to sleep

I used paci's it help keep my little one's quiet...instead of keep giving them a bottle all the time

I won't be using them for the first 6 weeks because I don't want to cause nipple confusion when l try to breastfeed. but after that 6 weeks or so I might give her one to see if she takes it. if she does cool, but it'll be taken away before she gets moved to the one year old room in daycare, if not that's cool too..

I used them sparingly. if we were out to dinner and I knew he just wanted something to suck on and play with, I'd give him a paci. I know my mom let me have a paci for years and when she finally took it I started thumb sucking which resulted in years and thousands in dental bills to repair, so I wanted to make sure that never happened to my children.

Yea I used one with my son. But it's like if you never give it to them they will never want it. I'm respecting his wishes tho just wanted to know if any others moms weren't going to use them as well.

He might change his mind when baby won't stop screaming/won't sleep because they just want to comfort suck on something. Good luck! :)

my daughter would never take them lol but I wouldn't use one. always a hard time weaning them from it.

no pacis, I didnt wanna use them either. His family came In and Thought it was okay and gave it to him and he stopped after Month!

I offered paci's to all 3 kids but only my oldest used one. My middle refused to use one and my youngest wasn't a fan either. I've had 2 babies in the nicu and I know they offer one to help with stimulating baby and the nurses all recommended them for babies especially preemies at least for the first few weeks while they adjust. We weaned my oldest off around 2 years old when she started chewing the nipples apart. We were very lucky and she gave it up pretty willing after letting her throw one out the back door and tell it bye bye.
