I really hate breastfeeding but I don't want to use formula because I'll feel like I failed. It's just become so painful that I'm scared to feed my baby and it's starting to make me feel depressed. I don't know what to do.
I felt that way too. I kept going for awhile longer and pushed through the pain. Eventually I had to give up on breastfeeding because working full time and staying up most of the time with a newborn is exhausting and I just didn't seem to ever produce enough to satisfy him. Breastfeeding is a beautiful bond, but there is no shame in formula feeding. It is available for a reason. As long as they are fed and healthy how could you be a failure?
You shouldn't feel bad if you chose that method of feeding. However, if it's important to you to breastfeed, see if your insurance covers a lactation consultant or go to a La Leche League meeting. They can help you. It shouldn't hurt once both of you learn how to do it. Good luck!
Maybe you can pump. Maybe that'll be a Lil easier on you. And formula is not failing your baby! FED is best!!
but if u have began to hurt and become depressed about doing it then ,try a different route.. I see a lot of moms on here breastfeed during the day and formula feed at night. Don't feel as if u will fail your LO,and being depressed will trigger more problems. @olive77
@jaden_mylove, because I really wanted to breastfeed my baby
y would u feel as if u have failed if u switch to formula? @olive77
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!
2dpo and on the tww journey. Anyone on the same dpo or close? Haven't decided if I will test at 12dpo or just wait and see if she shows up!!
My baby refused to take breast milk, even in a bottle. My supply ended up drying up within days. I feed him Similac Non-GMO for sensitive tummies now. As first I thought I'd failed too, but then I realized that he's probably healthier drinking the non-gmo formula over my breast milk anyway!
