I think it can start whenever, mine happened around 25 weeks or so with both babies. And it feels like it says, a sharp pain in your crotch pretty much.
I'm 27 weeks tomorrow. I've had it for a few weeks now. It's different for everyone. You'll know tho. There are times I can barely walk. But it goes away very quickly.

I started getting it around 18 weeks apparently.. yeah sharp pains. it's not exactly fun but not the worst pain ever either

Mine just recently picked up pretty heavy around 34 weeks. It's sharp pains, and some are worse than others.
