My boyfriend and I had an issue with them when we first moved in to our place because the previous owners failed to mention them. Wash EVERYTHING because they live in sheets and clothes. Buy mattress and pillow covers; the ones that go completely around the mattress and pillows and zip up so they can't get out. if you have a boxspring, get a cover for the box spring (that's where they stayed after we zipped up the mattress and we didn't figure it out for a while). If your bed is near a window and you can move it somewhere else, move it. It will help. If you have carpets, get a carpet cleaner and wash them if you can. If not, vacuum REALLY well and check all furniture for them because they like to hide in crevices. it's not your fault and you're not gross. they'll take some time to get rid of and I know it can be hard sleeping in a bed where you know there's creepy crawlies, but try to remember they'll be gone eventually.

Thank you very much. that is super helpful. that night we got covers and things and we haven't really had a problem since but it is very stressful having to rewash all the clothes and things I have gotten together for the baby because of this and thats what most stresses me out. @katarama

It's definitely stressful and for us they took forever to get rid of because they're just everywhere in the area we live in. It took us a long time to even find them because my boyfriend wasn't even getting bit; it was just me and he wouldn't believe me until he saw one. we slept in the living room for a while lol.

the public housing apartments we lived in had to be demolished because of them and roaches.
