At what week did people's doctors start checking to see if they're dilated?

I think my doc only checked me in the last few weeks of pregnancy. when id go in once a week

36 for me because my previous kids were a few weeks early, but normally 37-38 in most normal pregnancies I think?

Too many checks can create room for infections to occur so most try to minimize and my midwife group doesn't even check unless you specifically ask. Most OB's start between 37-38 weeks though.

My doctor checks at 38.
