I did the same with my daughter. my mom wanted to be there and I couldn't stand her, she made it all about her (including the birth of my first so it wasn't special my bp was spiked ) I just wanted my husband and sister in law there, well my mom kept calling to hospital when I never texted back and ended up showing up trying to come back. and got pissed when she wasn't the first to hold the baby. but no your not being selfish. your time, if people have a problem with your decision that's their fault .

Girl that's what we did, just my hubby and I. I wanted it to be just about us the first few hrs of her life. We had a scheduled c section by we didn't tell a soul. We acted like it was an emergency c section when we finally called every one to announce her arrival haha. People can be so selfish and just assume they have a right to witness your baby being born...um NO! I would do it again if I had to.
