no! but I do know that in some countries they give these out to new mothers in the hospital for their babies.. it has the box bed, with a thin padded matress, some clothes, formula diapers, all kinds of stuff!!! I wish the US would do something like this for the mothers who really can't afford all the expensive stuff for baby!!

Yes! Finland does this. It's a space saver as well. My baby's going to have to share a room with his brother. I'm sure they'll outgrow it alot sooner than a crib (esp a convertible) but i might look into this anyway. @littlemissrainesmommy

Ditto what @littlemissrainesmommy said. I've seen European countries governments give these or a subsidy out to new moms for free. (They change the box each year for moms based on what is safe and needed.) This is just a copycat company providing others with the same type of product. Pretty cool!

I think they are based out of the US. In Finland they also have soon to be parents take like parenting classes, which would benefit many people. I read it started back in the 30's bc alot of low-income families couldn't afford a crib, so they co-slept in the same beds as parents. The rate of infant mortality was extremely high. By offering this box, the parenting classes and more access to health care, they were able to lower the mortality rate to even lower than the US. @rgaine Ha!! I feel kinda needy rattling off this info, but it's so interesting!

@bubblebeck, Very cool! I saw this idea way back when but glad to see it again now that I'm expecting. Wonder how much shipping is? I'm somewhat interested- would be nice to have in my office (I work from home).

I'm not sure about shipping, but the cheapest one with some care products is $69.99. The mattress is $39.99. I guess it would be equivalent to a bassinet, but it comes with some things and it seems easier to move around. I never used a bassinet with my other 2 kids. Just a crib until they needed a toddler bed. I think I'd like it for naps, maybe in my room since when he comes the kids will be out of school..then they can still play in their rooms while he sleeps. 😊 @rgaine
