Any tips to stop heart burn? I wake up every other night and it feels like I'm dying it hurts so bad. The nurse said Tums but is there anything stronger and safer for me to take?

@beansprout, i had gotten immune to tums so dr prescribed Pepcid and that helped

I had heartburn every night. The only thing that worked for me is root beer and marshmallows. Keep cold water by your bed every night. It works wonders. Trust me. Oh and lay on your left side.

go back and ask your doctor , mine said you should only have heart burn up to twice a week...They can prescribe heartburn medication
