How long does it take to take in the fact that you're now a mommy and no longer pregnant? I look at my son and I'm just amazed. Like wow that's that little bugger that was just kicking me in the ribs less than a week ago.. And now he's this little man 💖 still hasn't completely set in lol. And if there's one thing I was totally not prepared for..was all the blood the next few weeks 😂 well here's our story
Monday night around 9 we left for the hospital because my back was hurting and I felt him kick frantically earlier in the day and just something didn't feel right..
Tuesday around 1am they admitted me because they were slightly worried my water may have been leaking and when they were testing it my sons heartbeat went from 160-170 to under 70 for a few minutes and back. After a few hours of being there I had gone from 1 to 3cm dialated. They put me on patosin to induce labor.
Time went by so fast I don't remember what the time was but I had gone back to 2cm and they were worried about his heart rate so they put balloons in me to help open my cervix. It fell out at 4cm. A few hours later I was at 7cm and when I hit 8 they wanted to do a trial push. when she saw that my cervix was soft enough for him to come they told me to keep pushing. Keith was born Wednesday 1/20 at 1:10 pm. They were going to keep me because I had been positive for gbs but he passed every test with flying colors so they sent us home 1/21 at about 9 pm. I had been going between breast feeding with a nipple guard (to help him) and pumping and giving him a bottle. Now it's 2am 1/22 and I'm sitting here staring at him not knowing what to do... Keep trying to pump but he's eating faster than I can pump even though I'm pumping a lot. The first time I pumped I got half an ounce which is apparently a LOT lol. In the hospital room the first night my stepmom and boyfriend were there to help me, last night my boyfriend was.. Tonight I'm at home and my stepmom won't let my boyfriend stay the night so I'm sitting here all alone just not knowing what to do.. Needing to go change my pad but can't move or hell wake up and not stop crying.. I've slept a total of 8-1/2 hours since I got admitted.. So very happy but still not taking this all in. Can't wait till daddy is here in the morning so I can sleep 😭 he's been so amazing from helping me measure my urine to asking for new robes because I bled through them 😂 he helped out a lot with our son too but hey that's his son so he should be. I'm still glad he's here doing his job as daddy and so thankful he's so great to me. LO is sleeping so I'm gunna try to lean back and sleep so I don't have to move my legs to wake him 😐 oh. And they say that they need to poop and pee at least once in the first 24 hours. They had diapers in our room for the expected 48 hours, well we had to ask for more because my son had pooped like 9 times. It was the 9th time at about 30 hours when I first changed him that he finally peed lol. All over himself in the middle of the diaper change 😂
My first night home was so Flippin scary! lol but don't worry it will get better! honestly the first two weeks you just feel like a hot mess... your always wondering if your doing something right and whatever. but after that it Def gets alot easier :) I had my daughter in a rock and play next to my bed though. I'd maybe get something like that so then you can move around freely and not worry about waking up baby from movements
Oh i see now hes a day old. Congrats cherish it its the most important part is the first few days😊
How old is your baby? Mine sleeps from about Midnight to 10am. Wakes up to eat though. I get enough sleep. She got a schedule down at about 2 months. You will get the hang of it😊
Lol please tell me after the first night it gets easier 😂 please tell me you're now so tired you fall asleep standing 😂 @alayna22
Yeah last night was actually not too bad, in the time I was a little stressed not being able to get him to stop crying but looking back it wasn't too too bad lol. I pumped every time we woke up to feed him the next time, I'm not making enough right now so I had to give some formula so he can actually eat :( he took it so well though he's so good 💖 @alayna22
