check out this link . It explains over supply better than I can. They have a lot of useful info on breastfeeding on that website . That's where I found out about nursing on top and the other strategies I mentioned for forceful letdown
I barely pumped and I still have let down @abbysue
My over production problem is due to pumping because she is a premie and I recently cut down to two pump sessions a day from seven .
I have that problem also . I nurse her on top of me so we are belly to belly . I also don't switch breast during a feed . I use the same one for two feeds . You can always take them off and wait for the let down to slow down . it should take a minute or two . Then put them back on . The nursing on top works well for me .
Some mamas just make more milk than others. It's not a bad thing. I say that it's better to over produce than under produce. :)
It sounds like you have a fast let down, which means you're over-producing. It's not the baby being greedy or eating too fast. What I did when I had this problem was pump a little bit before so that the let-down isn't so fast and chokes my baby.
