There is no proof that castor oil can b a danger to u if u use the recommended amount. Only people who overdue it or don't know what they are doing are the ones who are negative but I've heard alot of positive results
@theinkedbarbie, yeah, my husband's grandmother had told me to do it because my little one was overdue, so I googled it and everybody said it was just too dangerous.
idk, I just wouldnt risk it. I've heard it makes so many babies ill.
That's how my mom got me out I was a week late lol but It made me shit for a month straight when I was born lol
and you're only 36 weeks along you still have time to grow your baby
all Castor oil does is make you have a bad BM, then can cause baby to have a bm and that's why the baby comes because they're literally swimming in shit and that's dangerous because if they inhale before getting suctioned out they could get a terrible infection. there's been thousands of deaths due to Castor oil. I personally wouldn't risk it
I'd say it's perfectly fine to try it. It doesn't work on everyone, but not everyone is the same. I have seen and know a few people that it has worked on. @harmonee_mommy
There are studies that show no correlation between mothers with or without castor oil and meconium staining. Here is one:

Most people think the correlation that people noted is because many take it after 40 weeks, when there is increased risk, AND a stressful labor can cause your baby to pass meconium (IE if you get dehydrated!!).
Also, castor oil supposedly is NOT absorbed by your body, and therefore cant be passed from you to the baby.
