You will need to use a nipped shield.

mm omma_2_batbaby, I have...actually I've had 2 docs that just give a generic answer saying that it shouldn't be a problem. I more so, wanted to hear from other people that have experienced it

No problem, they sell it at most stores and an LC will tell you how to use them and that you will need one.

you won't necessarily have to use a nipple shield. I have inverted nipples as well and honestly, your nipples will protrude some when stimulated so they will atleast be flat and not inverted when stimulated. I breastfed my daughter a little over a yr and I don't even know what a nipple shield is. it was very painful at first but I got used to it, also my nipples are no longer inverted. They are just flat now. A lot of ppl told me that would happen after bf though

@quea, thank you! I am definitely expecting pain in the beginning but I'm pretty sure everyone hurts when they first start breastfeeding.
