RANT! so my mother and I have a long past and while my mother and I weren't talking for about 2 years I got super close with my step mom..she became my bestfriend. now that I'm pregnant my mother wants everything to do with me and the baby. so I'm planning an early baby shower with family back in Florida with my step mom and mother and my mother told my step mom she has no part in this baby's life I'm her grandma. she really hurt my step mom's feelings and I stood up for my step mom but now my mother is being a bitch and my step mom is so butthurt no one wants to plan the shower so I'm not having one with my family when I go back to Florida..ugh.. rant over

if they're both gonna act like that don't invite either of them and have a friend plan your baby shower for you. that's what we're doing because of a dispute between my boyfriend's mom and his soon to be step mom. as much as I care about his soon to be step mom. and can't stand his mother so I'm not stressed ive told them both either they can learn to get along or stay away from me and my pregnancy with all that petty nonsense

I have the same kind of issues between my mother and mother in law. I told them that if they said anything rude or disrespectful about the other I wouldn't include them in the things going on in my life. I made it simple. act like adults or get out. it's worked so far

it's hard because I live out of state and since I left none of my "friends" really talk to me anymore so I was relying on my mom and step mom to help me with this.

tell them they need to act like adults and that you need them right now. they really should straighten up. none of this is about them. it's about you and baby. they need reminded of that.

I know exactly what you mean, love. it's the same with me. but sometimes you gotta do stuff like that. you do not need any kind of stress on you. and like she said. none of your pregnancy is about them. so they need to think about whose Most important in this situation. which is you and that baby. @nebanks1226

good luck hun! I'm still learning through my pregnancy, but never ever let anyone put you in a situation like this. because this is all about you. not who thinks who should be involved. you get that choice to see whose fit to be involved! family does NOT act that way. whether your mom likes it or not. your step mom is family to that Beautiful baby.
