Good morning ladies!Quick question...Any of you pregnant ladies has hypothyroidism?and/or take prescribed levothyroxine?

I do my dr told me not to stop taking it and not to skip a day!

@liamsmom2013, thank you for commenting.how many mg do u take?and do u have any side effects or anything??

I was diagnosed at 21 years old... have been through 3 previous pregnancies with it... not including this one... or a previous miscarriage.

@woskibabe, did u take any prescribed drugs?or levothyroxine?

@nanz13, I was unmedicated the 1st pregnancy and my daughter was born at 35 weeks. I was on synthroid with the 2nd... and 17-P injections and my 2nd daughter was born at 38w2d. I had my thyroid removed and was extremely hyper via meds which caused me to miscarry a set of twins at about 6 weeks. The pregnancy prior to this one, I was slightly hyper which my Endocrinologist said was fine but my water broke at 21 weeks. I was hospitalized at 23 weeks and sadly our son had a cord accident at 28 weeks and we had to say good bye. I am being extra careful with this pregnancy. My OB just decreased my meds which I am following even though my naturopath doctor said I am fine. I am 15 weeks today and starting 17-P with this pregnancy in another week, give or take a couple days. I was taking 150mcg but my OB, who is also a reproductive endocrinologist, dropped me to 125 due to my blood work. I am being retested every 4-6 weeks.

@woskibabe, wow!what a story...sorry about your losts.I was diagnose 2 years ago and prescribed with levothyroxine (75mg) which i had an allergic reaction to it.my face got swollen and it made me feel weird honestly...so i simply stopped taking it.once i got pregnant my OB sent me to a specialist because she recommend that i needed to take something bc my hormone level was low.so i started taking a lower dose (25mg) prescribed by the specialist.i started taking this on my secound trimester.Im honestly not sure if i should keep taking it because i get migranes everyday.i know headaches are part of pregnancy but i did not had that issue before...was your first daughter born healthy or had any medical problems??what about your secound?

@nanz13, I can't take the generic, levothyroxine... my body doesn't use it properly. I had to switch to the brand name, synthroid. Maybe that is the problem. Ask your doctor about taking something different than the generic.

.5 and I'm more tired they don't really know but I didn't have my thyroid issues dignossed till after my 2nd miscarriage so I've been doing pretty good there going to be checking my levels a lot during the pregnancy

@woskibabe, can u explain to me thd difference between levothyroxine and synthroid?if u know.

@liamsmom2013, do u have any orher side effects?

@nanz13, the levothyroxine has more additives, so it is less actual thyroid hormone. But I don't know what the additives are. You may have an allergy to one of the additives. the synthroid is more expensive though.
