I had swabs at about 24 weeks and they told me I had bv, gave me two weeks of antibiotics which I took, they then rang me and said it wasn't bv it was ecoli and gave me another two weeks of anti biotics, then they rang me and told me they'd got it mixed up and I don't have either, but I could have thrush because of all the antibiotics I didn't need to take, so had to be re swabbed, it's a joke @felicjuh xxx

I just can't understand how they can leave pregnant women wait for so long! we are uncomfortable enough! the first midwife I saw did not tell me anything. even their reception rolled her eyes about her and told me some bits I needed to know. I do think some are in the wrong job. I have got a new lady who is lovely. however she had to send off my urine (possible infection ) and they lost it.. also at triage they lost my papers and blood before.. pretty worrying! hope you have been seen yet @b.margyte

@b.margyte, ooops, if so though if definitely put in a report as appointments are there for a reason if it was you that was late they more than likely would tell you to rebook it! Double standards! Definitely stand your ground and demand better care xx

@emmajo, ive jinxed myself ! Had an appointment for 2:30 for monitoring and a sweep came in to be told can i come back in an hour as shes busy with more important things 😂 told her no as my app is for 2:30 and i have plans so she told me to sit in the waiting area ! Bet you she will only come for me in an hours time 🙈

Ive tried pineapple and rasberry tea and long walks and yoga, I really don't think he wants to come out yet until they obviously give him a hand, if the scan goes okay tomorrow I could just end up waiting it out @emmajo xx

@darciepenny, Ah yeah defo, an induction means you dilate quicker so can feel more intense as its not a build up so completely understand.. Look up home sweeps.. Probably get an earful from people for suggesting it, but if done properly and with gloves/clean hands it will be fine :) I did star jumps and jogging on the spot but high knees.. Also walking down hills.. I went naturally into labour 38+5.. @b.margyte yeah definitely.. Sounds like the people where you are, are morons! Their job is the safety of your pregnancy/baby.. You're never wasting time getting checked out.. I'd put in a report to say you weren't receiving the high level of care you should be getting xx

@darciepenny, awk i know they do tend to offer before a formal induction so just mention you wanna try that first! @emmajo atleast someone agrees with me ! I was told by a midwife that im stupid for working so late on then another one told me not to come to the assessment unit unless its serious when i thought my waters were leaking 🙈 the hospital i go to is a joke !

I got examined last time at 36 weeks but she didn't want to do too much poking about because it's still early, but if I am going to be induced anyway then I'd rather have a chance to kick start things myself @emmajo xx

I've not heard of a sweep being done before because the method they use to induce you is to stretch your cervix anyway.. They may examine you before hand to see if you're dilated at all.. The induction is usually booked in though xx

Yes, definitely highlight it, better to be safe :) it may not be anything and may just be an active baby but I always say to make sure.. Some of these 'professionals' really do need a shake lol xx

@darciepenny, hopefully they give you a sweep to see if it helps first! Say you want to try a sweep and if not then get induced! If a sweep works its gonna do its job in the first 24h apperently so im sure they would let you have that before induction

they will try giving you a sweep first i think, there not planning on inducing me until the 28th xx @darciepenny

I have a scan tomorrow to let me know if I need to be induced or not (his growth has dipped) I was just wondering if they would've given me a sweep before inducing me or if they'd just start me off there and then, I was hoping not to be induced if I can help it, @emmajo @cmcdon203 @b.margyte @shelbylynnearthur xxx

@emmajo, im going to say to this lady that im seeing today as shes more on the high risk end of things and see if she sees anything in the scan! I swear id love to shake a few midwifes in my gps and hospital !

Yes, it's not a great thing, it can mean baby is in distress as an example (please don't let this scare you) if the cord is wrapped round babies neck, baby could fidget more to try get loose meaning increased movements.. Have a look on Facebook and type in Count The Kicks if you haven't already heard of them.. You'll find loads of information.. My midwife used outdated info with me too but I already knew about count the kicks so ignored her lol.. Xx

@emmajo, for increased movement aswell? Frig my midwife seems to think that a great thing and ive been in for it like 4-5 times and she just keeps saying hes a happy active wee boy 😳 in saying that she is a bit clueless half the time

I asked for a sweep and my midwife said no and she wouldn't do one until I was 40w I never made it to 40w and went into labour the day I was meant to have my 38w app with her 😂 you can be induced for a number of reasons the main one I hear is reduced or increased fetal movements.. But I think that's after being in hospital a few times due to it and being monitored xx

I had to ask for one . They only offer when your 40w i think unless you ask yourself. Then again if they check and your cervix is too far back they might not give you one .

I'm getting one due to anxiety and previous losses just to get started before I get induced if she doesn't come by due date xx
