hey is this territorial of me to buy my boyfriend a cat for fathers day because he mentioned his ex girlfriend was going to buy him one for fathers day and I didn't want that to happen so I bought one first is that wrong of me to do?

Haha I would do it, but that's just me. I would also express that she shouldn't be getting him anything really. I mean if his CHILD wants to get him something, that's a totally different thing. But she shouldn't be getting him anything, and also a cat for fathers day seems like a weird present for that specific holiday... weird. LOL

In my opinion, I think you did it for the wrong reasons. If you were thinking about getting him a cat before you found out his ex was then it would be a different story but since you're only getting him one because you're trying to compete with her seems like you're being kind of jealous( not judging).
And there is nothing wrong with being friends with an ex especially if things didn't end badly....seems like she's just trying to be nice.
