So my 2 year old has some strange behavior. He's a smart kid but at times he just seems weird. He screams out of the blue for no reason he does not make eye contact when you talk to him and hits himself all the time. More than usual. I read up on autism but I don't think he has that. Could it be something else or is that just normal 2 year old behavior?

it also could be a sign of tourettes... torrets? Sorry I'm not that great with spelling. But not all kids just yell. it could also be a tick. I would definitely get it checked out.

my brother in law was the same when he was 3 and he got sent to a specialist and he did have autism . yours might not. but it's good to get him checked out just incase
The no eye contact is the only thing that would concern me. The screaming and hitting could be him just being a toddler, but the zero eye contact could be a sign of something. Maybe not autism, but maybe bad eye sight or another developmental issue. I wouldn't worry, but just bring it up with his doctor. Make sure they listen to you though. When we brought my step brother in, my stepmom just knewwww he was autistic and it took almost a year for them to finally start testing. He was four and hardly talking..obviously something was up.
he could have high functioning autism. which is where they are usually really good, but have episodes like that
I'm not saying he does have autism, but my best friends little brother in law does all of that and he has very very minor autism. You could ask his doctor

wow.... Florida tried a 12 year old for Capital murder bc his mom left him with a 2 year old he couldn't take care of.... I just can't it's wrong!
My 2 year old keeps screaming all the time. Nothing works to get him to stop. It has got to the point where he is scaring his baby brother. I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm so scared to take him out in public because of this.
so I'm a mom of a 26 weeker and he's 2 and my boyfriend has a 2 year old as well and we both want a baby but wonder if we should wait because of all of my health issues I had with my son before he and I got together? please no bashing or judging just asking. fair warning my doctors are all on with it too I just have to have my iud removed.
just warning you, they may want to do an MRI on his brain, but its nothing to be afraid about. its all proceedure.
