I think I've asked this question before but what age do you start putting cereal in the bottle? My daughter is a month old and to me I think that's too early but a lot of people keep telling me that it helps them sleep better through the night. I'm going to ask her doctor at her 2Month check up but I want to know from y'all!

not true. there's no evidence that says it will help baby at all. it's all over processed and really not recommended for baby. @marcelljessica it's hard for baby to digest actually

Hahaha, @mommyslittleman and I were just talking about this. I guess it comes down to what you are comfortable with. However, before feeling comfortable about a decision that directly effects your child's health, at least use informed consent and educate yourself on any questions or doubts you have. Hell, just use Google if you have to, lol! In my personal opinion, from my research, experience and advice from our pediatrician, giving any form of food below 6 months is too young. A 1 month old cannot digest this. It negatively alters their gut flora. Premature feeding has been linked to adulthood diseases and allergies. I know many doctors will even say wait until 4 months, but they are obviously not current on medical trends and studies- or else they'd say to wait. Also be aware that a baby is hungry because their body needs nutrients (from milk). When you are filling them up to sleep through the night, you are voiding them of these nutrients that they need to grow. It tricks their bodies to believe it is full from receiving these essential nutrients, but in turn they have received NO nutritional value from it. Motherhood is a constant learning experience, so be proud of yourself that you are staying humble and asking good questions!

@marcelljessica, I would say to wait to see what her doctor says to do every baby is different. My son hates rice cereal so he still gets up at night at 6 months.

@marcelljessica, she's your baby don't feel peer pressured to do anything your not comfortable with. tell her no and your waiting until her doctor gives you the okay to do so.

and dont use rice cereal when u do start feeding them use oatmeal cereal... rice cereal binds the baby up most times and makes it hard for them to poop

I was told by doctors not to put cereal in her bottle but I had to do something the first week my little girl was born she lost a lot of weight because I wasn't producing enough breast milk and the formula wasn't doing the job either so I started giving her a little cereal in her milk she started to gain weight

She's eating pretty well! I was just wondering would it help her sleep through out the night. @kajasmommy

mostly what i was trying to say is the doctors recommend not to add cereal in their bottle ....but it didn't and don't help mine but what does work is getting her full and giving her a bath letting her play in the water then rub her down in lotion after that she's out rest of the night
