Question: So where we live with the in laws, there is absolutely no carpet in this house, and I'm worried about my girl's development without a safe environment to practice on. I use a blanket when she does floor time, she has been able to consistently roll both ways since about 3 months, and is now almost 5 months. But the blanket gets messed up and slips on the floor, I'm worried it's preventing her from learning to crawl...now I know it's a bit early for that, and most babies don't even crawl until 6 to 9 months of age, but my sister in law keeps shoving it in my face that my nephew was crawling at 5 1/2 months and it's pissing me off, I want my girl to develop at her own pace but I worry that she's being held back...any suggestions? I've let her play on the hard wood for small periods of time without a blanket but I have to carefully stand by because sometimes she gets frustrated and face plants, or she'll roll too fast and bonk the side of her head...

I'm worried about the same thing! My in laws there's no carpet and they have three dogs and two cats, I don't wanna sit her on the floor where the animals can get to her or her hurt herself 😔

@monsterbuttsmomma, same here! They have a cat (who is mostly afraid of going near her lol) and a dog who is not trust worthy. One time when we were letting him sniff her he growled at her and even though he's a little dog I do NOT trust him around her at all! She was so early with everything else I'm just worried crawling won't happen for another few months and it's gonna be my fault cuz I couldn't leave her on a safe floor space long enough 😔

The dogs sniff her to and the one growls and I flip out. I let her try and sit up and what not on my bed. Try buying a rug or something for the floor?

I have hard floors in my house, no carpet. I used a blanket when my son was little but once he started trying to crawl I took the blanket and just put pants on him and he did better. I wouldn't do that unless you were with her though because she will bonk herself a time or two. my son still bonks himself every now and then but nothing bad bad has happened
