I'm planning on breastfeeding. But all this talk and controversy about breastfeeding in public is wrong and disgusting has me so paranoid and scared. With my daughter I lived in a very small town and no one cared about it at all. Now I live in a different state and big city and I don't know what people will say or do out here. I really don't want to be ridiculed and shamed for feeding my baby when he/she is hungry.

@mrs.jones253, when I first moved here I didn't think public breast feeding would be a big deal at all, but this weekend I was at the mall and a young mother was there sitting on the bench breastfeeding, covered up, and was getting yelled at by this group of people. It was heartbreaking and disgusting behavior.
When I lived near vancouver i saw many mothers in public breast feeding. It's so close to portland and portlands all abput the "weird". I wouldn't worry near there.
I plan to breastfeed at home and in public. If someone has a problem with it then they can kiss my butt. Breastfeeding isn't bad and my husband is supporting me 100%. Do whatever your comfortable with.
I pump when I'm going out even though I sincerely feel I shouldn't have to be ashamed to feed my baby in public
you can always pump whenever you're going out. that's what I did til my baby stopped liking bottles. or I just throw a blanket over us and feed her that way.
I breastfeed my baby girl in public and I've had people tell me it's gross or whatever all u have to do is be a bitch if they say something I've told people to f*ck off and tell them that if it bothers them so much to not look
Do what makes you comfortable. Don't listen to other people. I plan to breastfeed when and where ever I am at the time.
Don't worry about it. Do what you think is best.
