My friend is freaking out. she did the gestational diabetes test and she ended up having it. Her doctor was horrible to her about it though, she acted as if she should have either known already or expected it then proceeded to tell her all negative things like when your baby's born if her sugar drops she could die. Not once did she say anything reassuring to her. I know nothing about gestastional diabetes but I'm trying my best to keep her from having a break down :/ I'm not understanding how so many baby doctors have such bad bed side manner.. you work with over emotional women daily you should know to break the news lightly and try to keep her positive about what she can do to manage the problem instead of kicking her while she's down.

Sounds like she needs to find a new provider. I don't know too much about gestational diabetes as I've never had it, my husband is type I though. She just needs to follow her diet and check her levels and she shouldn't have a problem if she can control it through those means ❤️ that's terrible her provider would act that way.

I had it with my first pregnancy and I didn't find out until later and my baby was fine. You just follow a diet and check your blood sugar throughout the day. It's not that bad. If it's severe she might need medication and insulin in her IV at delivery but that doctor is ridiculous. My friend just had a baby with low blood sugar at birth and they gave it a sugar solution in a bottle and bam he was perfectly normal

See I was thinking that will all the medical advancements they have now and how they're able to save super preemie babies that they'd have to easily be able to fix something like low sugar. I really wanna slap her doctor now @rochelleyayy

i would seriously get another doctor...a doctor is not suppose to put u down ..they are suppose to help u...that's so wrong.

that's really something a doctor should never say I have diabetes and my doctor didn't say that all he said is I have to do is drink more water and check MY blood sugar before I eat and an hr after I eat I also have to be on insulin but never once told me that it would affect my baby like that or that will die God forbid mY Dr tell me that I would have slapped him!!!
