I would try cutting sugar out of your diet. That alone can make a big difference.

I'd keep up with the gym. Go five days a week for at least an hour or two. Cut out carbs and highly processed foods. If you cut out sugar but are still eating carbs, they just turn into sugars. And try things like the elliptical and stair master for a 30 minute warm up before you make your rounds at the gym. It'll get you going. The stair master is the hardest work out at my gym I swear I almost puked the first time I used it lol.
