Just wondering if anyone knows, I am a first time mom to be, my baby is due on June 30th. For my taxes do I put my baby down now or next year? or do I have to change my W2 when my baby is born but since it will be in the middle of the year I'm just so confused.😕

he had to have been born before Dec31 2015 to be on this tax period.... but wait are you talking about when you file next year? than yes in 2017 you can file him on your taxes for 2016 :) . as long as he is born I'm yr year your filling for no matter how old you can claim him!

@almiita, I only know because my hubby is a Jackson Hewitt tax preparer lol I asked the same question when I was pregnant with my son in 2011/2012 tax season

I asked the same thing. you can claim them next year. because taxes are based from the previous year. so next year you can claim baby
