my doctor gave me a list of pediatrician the day after I had my daughter I kinda just picked and ended up loving him he is great with my daughter but I would look up and ask around your area who people would recommend instead of waiting last minute and possible not liking them

I didn't. They assigned me one, and I ended up liking her, so kept her.

They usually want you to have one prior to labor or very soon after my hospital gives me a list of people affiliated with the hospital in case but I can choose anyone

The hospital will ask you for the pediatrician that your child will be seeing after birth
