Im new on here! But Im 22 weeks & expecting a little boy! This is my first pregnancy & I think the scariest part of all would be getting the epidural. Ive really considered on not getting it. Any suggestions?
I'm getting induced tomorrow night! I'm scared bc ive wasnt induced with my other 2. Im not sure what to expect, but im excited I get to meet my son Thursday.

For me I didn't get it because I was taking the pain. If you feel like you can take the pain then do without it.

Ive heard a lot of bad things about it & I really feel like I'd rather take the pain than get a 8in needle shoved in my spine! @peaceinfall

I just had my baby 2 weeks ago via c section. They tried the spinal and that failed so they tried the epidural. It ended up not working for me but it wasn't as painful as them attempting the spinal. Granted, I was exhausted and contracting every two minutes so I was just hoping for relief. They ended up doing general anaesthesia. I do have to say the back pain after from the epidural and spinal attempts sucked but as long as I keep up with my pain meds I am okay. Sorry for the long post, I hope it helps a little. I guess I am trying to say anything can happen and my advice is to do what feels best in the moment.

same here im gonna try my best not even ask for that crap when the day comes! rather take the pain than have back pains from it later on in life honestly

There's a lot of back injuries because of it, also with some it makes them push forever. None of that sounded worth it to not feel pain.

Thanks for sharing that! I know Im probably in for it when I actually go in labor and have contractions, but im also scared of needles! If I can handle the pain without having to go through all of that then I will, thats definitely my last option. Is there anything else they can give you besides the epidural for the pain? @craftycroft

Heads up, they will put you on an IV, it's mandatory. You loose a lot of fluids and you also can't eat anything accept ice chips

I have no idea if they can give you anything else for the pain, sorry :(. It is scary to think about and I had a lot of anxiety but when it actually happend I just kept thinking about my baby girl and that the pain was only temporary and that helped a lot. You should definitely talk to whoever is delivering your baby about pain management options!

Getting the epidural is deff not the scariest part at all... Dont even worry about that! That is the last of your worrys when giving birth! An met me tell you its a real life saver! It was amazing
