What are the best brands of car seats and strollers? I've been looking at Chicco and Britax but not sure.

It actually all depends on your vehicle, your price range you're willing to spend. All car seats pass the same testing so they all meet the same requirements. Just know the higher price you pay has more to do with the bells and whistles that come with it. Baby Trends aren't recommended for newborns since the lowest shoulder slot is 7" meaning baby would have to have a 7" torso to even fit it.
I love my Chicco keyfit car seat. Super simple and Easy system to use and install. I chose the infant car seat for the first few months.

They even have pack n plays that match the car seats and stroller
Graco is good like @kiyaratores said and they have a lot more options....
They have light travel system. That's what i'm using.
