So just found out over a week ago I'm pregnant. And I'm having my first appointment with my midwife on the 1st Feb. What really happens on your first appointment?😊😊
It's all so exciting! My first midwife appointment lasted about an hour and you get to ask questions so I'd suggest up until the appointment if you have any questions then write them down so you don't forget them xxx
Take a clear blue digital :) that will tell you weeks since conception etc :) You can work it out based on your last period and the length of your cycle too :) Don't worry...just look away when she is taking the blood..depending on the midwife you may not feel the needle go in at all. At most you'll feel a scratch :) Xx
I'm petrified of needles but I guess it's time to face my fears lol. And well I don't know how many weeks I am will they send me for a dating scan? Xx
Everything is pretty boring apart from the scans lol :) And I have a doppler at home...so I can listen to the babies heart whenever I wanted :) x
Medical history, urine sample, blood pressure, blood taken, weight and height for BMI :) That is it really. They basically do this every single midwife appointment. After 16 weeks they will listen to the babies heart. Then at 27 weeks. They start measuring you. That is how I remember it :) Go on the NHS website. x
Okay thank you 😊😊xxx
