when I had mine I didn't have a full bladder at all. the lady said I didn't need a full bladder bc the baby was big enough. don't drink anything with sugar. some technicians don't want the baby to move during the anatomy scan bc than it makes it harder to check and make sure everything is good with the baby. yes the anticipation will kill you
They will take measurements of the brain and other organs to make sure baby is developing, they'll measure hands and feet and give you an approx weight. They always try for a really good face shot to check for hair lip and stuff like that. basically they're just measuring everything. If they see a problem your OB will be alerted and will probably call you and try to get you in ASAP to discuss it with you. It also tells them how accurate your due date is. Fun stuff. I have to have a second one friday because our boy refused to show us his face.

Drink a lot of water. They want ur bladder to be full. And the last thing they do is tell u the sex. The anticipation will kill you lol.

*side note - for every ultrasound I've had they make me EMPTY my bladder because it's so large It actually gets in the way. lmao

They've made me empty my bladder for all ultrasounds, you only need a full bladder early on. They just do a lot of measuring basically.
