I keep seeing Iv's on women when we go into labour in their hands do they have to put it there?😢

most hospitals do it in the hand but your hospital may be different

ow yeah it hurts worse in the hand more than the arm when you.go.into labor you can always ask of they can put.it in your arm. I have big veins in my hands and arms so they always can get a vein in the first try.

My IVS are usually in my right forearm, that's where it's easiest to find my veins. they've only ever done my IV on my hand when they ran out of room on both my fore arms (usually only the case when I'm hospitalized for weeks at a time and they have to give me a fresh IV at least every 2 days)

girl! 1 of only 2 times I cried during the entire labor/birth/recovery period was when the anesthesiologist (finally) put this needle in my hand! the nurses had poked me 4 times trying to get it, unsuccessfully. I still have a scar from it 7 months pp!

@deasiaanddjmommy, I'll talk to my ob, I'll shut that down real quick they roll and it hurts I rip it out when they put it in my hand I'm going to ask if hey can do it differently @nharri22 does that hurt I normally get them on top of my wrist...@wyatts_mommy_0106, yeah I have huge veins also the ones in my hands just roll, so my arm is more logical

I had 2 tho & this was my other I.V. it didn't bother me so much.. but that hand one sucked!

ah gave my hope girl@crunchymomma and @lovemyson_610 hell no girl i have a scar from Dothan doing that to me in my hand to get fluids and never got the vein in my hand either

Yeah definitely ask them to do it I'm your forearm. they have no reason to tell you no unless they can't seem to get a vein in either of your arms.

@brinleysmommy I was in the hospital for a week almost bc my platelets were too low for them to release me, so they had to take my blood 3-4 times a day & I was so beyond over it at the end of the week. I had literally had blood drawn from every place imaginable! & my veins are horrible too, so I totally feel your pain!

mine didn't hurt at all. It feels better than having it in my hand.
