@lovemyson_610, ic what you are saying, but I rather use what I had as a baby.....its more special and like I said my baby isn't going into the crib until he is able to move himself around by himself...but I don't trust what the Internet tells me anymore they change their stuff like every other day...just like lay you baby on its back not stomach....like I will lay him the way he sleeps best at! Cuz my aunts baby girl only slept on her stomach she refused to sleep on her back lol so I mean there are so many things and opinions the Internet says that I just won't look anything up
if you look up deaths and injuries attributed to crib bumper pads there have been roughly about 27 accidental deaths reported from 1985 to 2005 and it further goes on to say accidental suffocation is controversial. The American Pediatrics have stated that they are a potential risk when they are pillow like. Bumper pads should be thin firm not pillow like. My boys get right up to the corners and breathe fine. research it yourself. and make your own decision for what will work for your family hun.
@sharonpaige13 true, but at the same time.. think about how many less SIDS cases there are now than there used to be. when I saw my son with his face completely against the bumper, I just knew that if it had been a regular bumper he would've suffocated. its up to you, either way. but doctors are highly against using the old bumpers anymore.
@lovemyson_610, honestly I think people over react over everything lol I know they aren't recommended but I mean I survived with them and so did everyone else around me...and I don't plan on putting him in the crib till he is able to move himself around
@sharonpaige13 the regular bumpers aren't recommended anymore, babies can suffocate from them.
they come in different colors you can find mesh ones that match the crib set
Mesh is safe. Regular bumpers aren't recommended anymore.
I had my babies sleep with me, the only time they slept in the crib was for nap time. And the bumpers were more for looks honestly.
I use regular bumpers, my boys were hitting their heads on the crib in their sleep. they're strong enough to turn their heads, but I've used them from the start but that's just what works for me
@wyatts_mommy_0106, @lovemyson_610 I was thinking about buying those but I have an old Ohio state set my grandma made me when I was a baby that I wanted to use....I highly doubt that it's the mesh ones since that was over 21 years ago lol
I also have the mesh one. I went & checked on my son while he was napping & he had gotten all the way up where his face was on the bumper, at that moment, it was totally worth the price!
I use bumpers but I have the mesh ones they are breathable so if my son gets on them he can still breath they are all more expensive but worth it
@sharonpaige13 I wasn't getting my info off the internet. I was getting it from his pediatrician. once they get a certain age, they're fine to sleep on their stomach. my son sleeps on his stomach now, but didn't before he was 6 months old. but hey, it's your child - you do whatever you want with your child!
