while my SO just sleeps or watches TV... then makes a "do I have to?" face when I ask him to change her or something else involving her...
if I'm going to watch her during the night, because you have to work, that's fine. but when you're home and I'm STILL taking care of her, even on the weekends and you just wake up and go straight upstairs to sleep more.... I will freak out. yes it is my responsibility to take care of her, but I shouldn't be 99.9% we should be doing it as a TEAM. & we aren't

I had the same problem with my fiancé after our son was born. when I was still in the hospital he slept in the spare bed for most of the day while I visited with people who stopped by. he's gotten a lot better but still makes a face when I ask him to change diapers.

when Isabelle was born, the night she was born, he went to a buddies house to smoke and then went home and slept.. didn't wake up until 12:30, showed back up at the hospital 1:30-2:00....
I'm still hurt about that. he told me he "wanted to rest up to help me out with her" you couldn't have rested up in the hospital with your girlfriend who literally just gave birth to your daughter not even 3 hours ago??? @melissaann032

ugh! I am completely convinced that guys just don't get it. they probably never will. they assume that since they watched their moms do it, it must be easy. (My fiancé is the oldest of six and his mom was pretty much on her own) but, its not easy. doable, yes. but help would be great. fortunately, he's realized that he should have done more so, fingers crossed that he's much more helpful with our next one! and I hope your boyfriend realizes that he's only stressing you out and actually starts helping more!
