Before 4 mo, their digestive systems aren't mature enough to handle solids. Formula or breastmilk has all the required nutrients. Feeding solids too early poses a risk of aspiration since they are unable to swallow correctly.
her pedi sucks I have to change drs for her. not to mention I know my baby more then a dr that sees her once a month. just wanna know how the mommies and their babies are doing with foods
This might sound crazy but with my daughter, I gave her at least a spoon of rice in her cereal at a month old every night. At 3 months I was giving her stage one baby food at least once a day with a little bit of water or milk, just so she can try getting the hang of eating from a spoon. My parents are old school Cuban and help me raised her 😅 nothing ever happened to her, only that she was a fat baby with nice thigh rolls lol
I put baby food in his bottle at 3.5 months, then at 4 months I started spoon feeding him. this was what his pedi recommended. at 6 months my pedi said he wanted me to start weaning him off the bottle. so now at 7 months old my son has only 2-3 six oz bottles a day & eat 8-12 oz of baby food 3 times a day with juice or water all throughout the day.
she still hasnt doubled her birth wait and her pediatrician is throwing a fit even made us go to the hospital and put IVs and stuff in her and in the end she is completely healthy but the dr wont stay off my back

Baby food and solids (i.e. not BM or formula) are the same thing.

Food is not recommended until four months and most pedi say not until six months. You need to speak to your doctor and get their recommendation. AAP recommendation: https://www.healthychildren.org/English/ages-stages/baby/feeding-nutrition/Pages/Switching-To-Solid-
