My LO will be 7 weeks in 2 days and I think I'm gonna make the leap and start him on rice cereal! Hoping it will help with his spitting up and help to fill his little belly!
@kaylalee201, he was on silimilac the first 2 weeks of his life. His doctor switched him to enfamil.
i would try similac for spit up. its a thicker formula. my son had the same problem so his doctor recommended it. @camdensmama
@kaylalee201, enfamil infant. Same formula he's been on for 5 weeks now!
@camdensmama ahhh sounds like he's spitting up from over feeding then. My daughters had a bit of acid reflux. I believe we started the cereal in her bottle at 2 months. even though he cries and screams I would say just try the pacifier trick. and maybe try small more frequent feedings.
I see. You should ask his dr first tho to make sure he's okay with it
@santistevanmommie, his spit up isn't normal. It's like an entire ounce at a time. It's a lot!!!!
My daughter spit up every feeding when she was that little, it's pretty common for babies to do that. They grow out of it, now that my daughter is almost 5 months she hardly spits up. Also it can be bad for baby's tummy to start rice cereal this early. You should definitely wait a little while before starting the rice cereal. Or at least talk to his dr
@rosalinasmami, how old was your daughter when you started her on it? And yes I burp him every ounce! But it doesn't help. He keeps eating and eating until he makes himself sick! And if I take his bottle and try to soothe him other ways he screams!
I would wait until he is 4 months or when your pedi gives the ok. unless they did, then go for it! lol For my babys spit up my pedi suggested I put a but if rice cereal in my daughters bottle. She's breastfeed, but when I did give her bottles I put a little, and it did seem to help! Also make sure to burp him good after a feeding and try keeping him up right for a awhile. I slow stoped putting cereal in her bottles. she still spits up here and there, but not as much.
Good to you!

Is this chicken pox?
He has eczema on his shoulders, but the rash on his back is different, appeared last night and he now has some on his neck and chest too.
