personally? I have watched my.mother do the same to my dad for YEARS! and their relationship isn't love it's survival now. so I think if u want someone to love u and care for u...... don't stick with a guy who only does it to survive the harsh world.
The difference is you gotta be able to tell if they're genuinely remorseful, or whether they want something to fall back on.

I agree with @marskhaos hard to get over but you can tell if someone truly wants you to forgive them and seriously knows they did wrong
