Don't give up! Keep feeding you'll start producing more breast milk is better for baby!

Don't feel bad.. I did too at first but realized if formula was bad for baby they wouldn't let you give it to them. Either way your baby is going to be healthy momma

You can do it, don't give up! If your goal is to continue to breastfeed then perseverance is key! Feed at the breast often to increase supply, count those diapers to make sure he's getting enough...he may feel full from formula but he also will get full at the breast. If he seems like he's not getting full, it is most likely because he doesn't want to leave the breast, he wants to comfort suckle or increase your supply for a growth spurt by feeding for longer periods and more often! Here is a GREAT article to read to help your supply and to reassure yourself that you're producing plenty and doing a great job 😄http://kellymom.com/hot-topics/low-supply/

honestly, fed is best, it does NOT matter how your baby is fed. as long as he's healthy and happy.

its also harder since i have to use a nipple shield since he is not able to latch to my actual nipple

I would definitely suggest trying to wean him off the nipple shield, your breasts aren't being stimulated enough with the shield in the way...if you keep practicing, hand express a little onto his lips and in his mouth to encourage him to open and latch, swipe the nipple from his nose down over his mouth to also encourage him to open wide...you can also try and see a lactation consultant to learn the best way to wean him off the shield. It's not a bad thing if you need to supplement but be prepared your supply will keep diminishing and he will end up on formula only. There's nothing wrong with that but if you were hoping to continue breastfeeding for its many benefits, then definitely seek help instead of giving in! Besides, formula costs a fortune and bottles and nipples and sterile water...it all adds up real quick and the equipment is a pain to keep clean....whereas the breast is free and always accessible lol again not bashing formula, just saying in my opinion I find breastfeeding to be much easier and it has a lot of amazing benefits for you and baby!

And I'm not bashing anyone but honestly if everyone just gave up when it became hard or they doubted themselves, then no one would ever breastfeed and that's just a shame, it's the most natural thing and amazingly healthy and we should all have a chance at least to experience and let our babies benefit from it! Not everyone can continue or even want to, but for those of us who do want to and CAN, we all deserve to fight for what we feel is best!!!

Drink the greens from "it work" they have gummies too and its works. You produce more milk. But don't feel bad i breastfeed my baby but when i go out or when i need to do something i just give him a bottle with formula.

why do you think he isnt getting full?
karen·
Мама сына-младенца
because he sucks for like 40 mins and once i feel like he is done i lay him down and 10 mins later he wants more@esthelaaa

@ethansmommy12192015, sometimes they like to comfort nurse too... my girl is almost 4 months and will only sleep 90% of the time if I nurse her to sleep. sometimes she'll stay latched while sleeping for almost an hour, and I produce like a dairy cow!

You can do it 😄 Ah and it sounds like a growth spurt, they will act like they're hungry ALL THE TIME during growth spurts, they're just extra needy and the more they eat the more they are telling your body to produce....it's a good thing! Tiring as hell but it's a good sign if he wants to nurse a lot, it means he's growing! Don't rely on how often or how long he eats as a way to tell how much supply he's getting, as long as he's peeing good at keast 5 or 6 times a day then he's getting PLENTY 😁

In fact, my almost 5 month old has been nursing right now for over an hour....she unlatched by herself like I (almost) always let her do, napped for a bit longer, then started rooting around again! I switched her to the other side and she's been sleep eating ever since, it's been about 20 mins already 😨 but it's normal, she goes through phases where she'll wanna do this all the time, then all the sudden she'll be content with a 10 min feed on one breast and that's it lol COMPLETELY NORMAL!!!
