Research dog rescues in the area the dog is in... Act now and be your dog's advocate on social media in the area. It costs money to have a dog out down- maybe they haven't done it yet and would appreciate someone just getting the dog off their hands. Better than it being killed!

And 8 yrs isn't terribly old- I have a 9 1/2 and 11yr old dog that run and jump and play all over the place. Senior dog rescues work to save dogs like yours.
